Sharon Comer Weatherspoon, began the Moses Moms, USA awareness campaign with seed money from Thrivent Financial Action Teams. Thrivent Financial is a membership organization of Christians of which Sharon  is a member. The campaign was launched on March 4, 2017 at the Keitt Institute "POWERHER EXPERIENCE""  Atlanta, GA. The founding Moses Moms, USA Group, of West Cobb County Georgia, meets the third Saturday of each month.

The name Moses Moms came to her by way of a still small voice, along with the explanation of its meaning. It’s an acronym for Mothers of Special Education Students! The name also came with a call to action for Christian congregations - a challenging question: "A Moses Mom, who can find?"

As a former Director of Congregational Advocates with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Sharon advocated to bring awareness and funding in  support of the special needs of individuals and organizations serving families living with special needs. She is passionate about continuing to raise awareness which connects mothers of special education students to practical solutions to aid them in preparing for the future now!  Sharon knows of  this need first hand because she has a son who lives with Autism.

With nearly 85% of the disabled population unchurched, there is a role for every Christian congregation in the Moses Moms, USA mission. One of our primary goals is to add Moses Moms Group’s to Christian church cell  groups in order to  build a bridge between Christian discipleship, mothers of special education students in the community, and loving, supportive cell groups in the local church.  Matthew 25:40

"...and how will they learn without a teacher?" With the passing of the ABLE ACT of 2014, the need for preparation today for tomorrow has never been greater!

What We Believe

We believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. The Apostles Creed
